Theme - Declaration of Independence

The theme for the 2009 Nelson County 4th of July Parade is "The Declaration of Independence". This is a great way to celebrate the document that began to define our freedoms and our country. This theme may be presented as a person, place or thing. We can't wait to see this parade!

Well the great spring weather this weekend has me thinking about summer and the 2009 Nelson County 4th of July Parade. It's really never too early to sign-up. The parade will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 11am. Contact us at nelsonparade@yahoo.com to sign up. Oh and Happy Spring!

Calling All Bikes (and wagons and strollers)!

The children's bike parade has really become a cornerstone of our July 4th parade celebration. Children are invited to bring their bikes, wagons, strollers and other non-motorized vehicles, decorated for Independence Day. Here is the Bike Parade Schedule in Lovingston:

10:30am - Bike parade judging begins
10:45am - Bike parades prizes are awarded
11:00am - National Anthem
Bike Parade begins on Front Street immediately following the National Anthem
