Wagons and Bikes and Strollers...

Are you ready for the Children's Bike Parade? This parade has really become a cornerstone of our July 4th parade celebration. Children are invited to bring their bikes, wagons, strollers and other non-motorized vehicles, decorated for Independence Day.

The theme for the 2009 4th of July Parade is "The Declaration of Independence". This can be represented by a person, place or bike/wagon//stroller.

10:00am - Sign-up in front of the Union Bank on Main Street
10:30am - Bike parade judging begins
10:45am - Bike parades prizes are awarded
11:00am - National Anthem
Bike Parade begins on Front Street immediately following the National Anthem

Theme - Declaration of Independence


The theme for the 2009 Nelson County 4th of July Parade is "The Declaration of Independence". This is a great way to celebrate the document that began to define our freedoms and our country. This theme may be presented as a person, place or thing. We can't wait to see this parade!

Parade Thank-you

We would like to thank everyone who participated in and attended the Nelson County 4th of July Parade. The bike parade is getting better every year! Thank-you to our special guests, the Governor State Champion Basketball team and Barry “Bear” Michaels of WYYD. And a special thank-you to our police, fire and rescue teams who we appreciate and depend on every day. Nelson County can be proud of this fine community spirit. Hope to see you all next year!

The Nelson County 4th of July Parade is scheduled for 7/4/08 at 11am. The bike parade line-up begins at 10am with judging at 10:30am. We need you, parade participants and volunteers. Here's how you can get involved:
