Thank-you to everyone who participated in our 2010 parade. A special thank-you to Alex Adams, John Holman, Kyle Marks, Matt Travis, Diane Bryant, Gary Helbert, Patty Turpin, Betty White, Kathy Helbert and Denise Carter. We also thank the Rutherford family for their assistance in our judging area and to the Nelson County Police Department for helping us to have a safe parade. We hope to see you all again next year.

Parade Thank-you

We would like to thank everyone who participated in and attended the Nelson County 4th of July Parade. The bike parade is getting better every year! Thank-you to our special guests, the Governor State Champion Basketball team and Barry “Bear” Michaels of WYYD. And a special thank-you to our police, fire and rescue teams who we appreciate and depend on every day. Nelson County can be proud of this fine community spirit. Hope to see you all next year!

Calling All Bikes (and wagons and strollers)!

The children's bike parade has really become a cornerstone of our July 4th parade celebration. Children are invited to bring their bikes, wagons, strollers and other non-motorized vehicles, decorated for Independence Day. Here is the Bike Parade Schedule in Lovingston:

10:00am - Sign-up in from of the Union Bank on Main Street
10:30am - Bike parade judging begins
10:45am - Bike parades prizes are awarded
11:00am - National Anthem
Bike Parade begins on Front Street immediately following the National Anthem

2008 Fourth of July Parade

The Nelson County 4th of July Parade is scheduled for 7/4/08 at 11am. The bike parade line-up begins at 10am with judging at 10:30am. We need you, parade participants and volunteers. Here's how you can get involved:

2008 Parade Grand Marshalls - State Champions

The Governors Boys Basketball 2008 State Champions will be the 2008 Nelson County 4th of July Parade Grand Marshalls. Although the parade is in its' third year, this team will be the first of our honored parade participants. Come out and show your appreciation for the hard work of our Governors.
